BSMMU renamed to 'Bangladesh Medical University' without official announcement

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has been renamed to 'Bangladesh Medical University' after banners with the new name appeared across the campus.

University staff, doctors, and students of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement were seen placing the banners in front of various blocks on Saturday.

However, the BSMMU administration has not provided any official statement regarding the change or its approval process,  a local daily newspaper reports.
