Burglars break open shops, loot Tk 1.14m in Dhaka

Burglars reportedly looted Tk 1.14 million cash from three shops in two shopping centres in the Dhaka's Islampur area early Wednesday.

A group of burglars swooped on two shops - New Bishal Three Piece and Shatarupa Three Piece - at Habibullah Plaza breaking open the shutter and looted Tk 1 million cash from the two shops, said Babu Bazar police camp in-charge Sub-inspector Humayun.

Later, the burglar group stormed into Al Arafah Three Piece at Zahan Centre and looted another Tk 140,000 in cash from the spot, the SI added.

The incident came into light on Wednesday morning when the workers of the shops came to their workplace and found the vault of the shops broken, reports UNB.
