Cabinet clears proposal to form company for Padma Bridge operations

The cabinet has approved a proposal to establish a company to operate and maintain the Padma Bridge.
The decision came from a regular cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain briefed the media after the meeting.
He said the company, named 'Padma Bridge Operation and Maintenance Company, PLC', would be 100 per cent government-owned. It would be responsible for the operation of the bridge, including the collection of tolls.
