Cabinet Division moves to implement 246 more reform proposals

The Cabinet Division has selected 246 additional recommendations from several reform commissions for implementation.

The matter was discussed during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Thursday, reports bdnews24.com.

Following the meeting, Shafiqul Alam, the chief advisor’s press secretary, briefed reporters on the decisions.

“A total of 37 recommendations out of 367 have already been implemented, while 14 have been partially implemented,” he said.

“In today’s meeting, the Cabinet Division raised 246 more immediately implementable recommendations from 10 reform commissions. Earlier, 37 had been implemented. Of the new recommendations to be taken up, 82 are labour-related. In addition, there are 71 from the Women’s Commission, 37 from the Local Government Commission, 33 from the Health Commission and 23 from the Media Reform Commission,” the press secretary added.

In total, 37 recommendations have been implemented, 14 have been partially implemented, and 316 are under implementation or review for implementation.

The government had formed 11 reform commissions to carry out reforms in several sectors of the state.

They are the Constitutional Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, Electoral Reform Commission, Police Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission, Local Government Reform Commission, Labour Reform Commission, Women’s Affairs Reform Commission, and Media Reform Commission.
