Call for unified approach to empower people with disabilities

A meeting was held at Bangla Academy on Wednesday on how the government and NGOs can work together to support people with disabilities.

The event, titled “Sustaining Inclusive Development for Persons with Disabilities: Importance of Joint Government-NGO Initiatives,” was organised by B-SCAN, NGDO, NCDW, and DWS with help from ADD International.

Speakers said it is important to make a full list of disability groups and give them the support they need.

They also called for better teamwork between ministries, regular funding, private sector help, and including disability groups in all development plans.
