Climate experts on Sunday stressed the need for tackling the adverse impacts of climate change to sustain the momentum of current economic growth.

Calling upon the enhancement of internal capacity to prevent the untoward effects of climate change, they also laid emphasis on making concerted efforts to this end, as Bangladesh is committed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The experts made the call at a climate-related seminar in the capital organised by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin spoke on the occasion as the chief guest with PKSF Chairman Quazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmad in the chair.

PKSF Managing Director Md Abdul Karim delivered the welcome speech.

Md Shahab Uddin said the ministry is working at full swing to keep the impacts of climate change at bay.

He also urged the local government administration to work with private organisations to this end.
