Call to ensure quality services to displaced Myanmar nationals

Local and overseas experts have called for integrated efforts among the agencies to ensure standard and quality services to the forcibly-displaced Myanmar nationals (FDMN).

They came up with the suggestion at a dialogue titled “Integration of Grand Bargain Commitments in FDMN Relief and Facilitating Localisation: Pathways to reducing transaction costs, ensuring accountability and partnering with local organisations” held at the CIRDAP auditorium in the city on Saturday.

The programme was organised by CCNF, COAST, GMI and Navigation 360.

Evaluating overall situation in the Rohingya camps, they said despite having a better understanding of the capacity of people, the local non-government organisations (LNGOs) are not getting enough support for capacity building and finance from the international non-government organisations (INGOs).

They, however, raised questions of the quality of some LNGOs and asked the government organisations to play a lead role in ensuring transparency and accountability of all the bodies working in Rohingya camps.
