This decision was taken at a meeting of the Advisory Council presided over by Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, at the State Guest House Jamuna on Thursday.
In a press release, the Ministry of Cabinet informed that the draft of the "Ordinance on Determining the Maximum Age Limit for Direct Recruitment in Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Bodies, Public Non-Financial Corporations and Self-Governing Organizations, 2024" has been approved in principle.

The notification mentioned that the maximum age limit for entry into all cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service will be fixed at 32 years.
The same age limit will also be applicable for entry into all government jobs outside the Bangladesh Civil Service.
It will be applicable to autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies subject to necessary adjustments in their respective recruitment rules.
