A car carrying Anti-discrimination Student Movement Convenor Hasnat Abdullah has been rammed.
The incident occurred at 12:30pm on Thursday in Jatrabari when a car was rammed from behind, reports bdnews24.com.
Abdul Hannan Masud, chief convener of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, wrote in a Facebook post: “There has been another murder attempt on the life of Hasnat Abdullah by the ramming of a vehicle.”
July Shaheed Memorial Foundation General Secretary Sarjis Alam wrote in a Facebook post: “We returned from Chattogram to Dhaka last night in another car. We dropped Hasnat at his Cumilla home along the way.”
“Now I hear that, on his way from Cumilla to Dhaka, the back of Hasnat’s vehicle has rammed by another car.”
Hinting that the incident was a ‘murder attempt’, he said: “How far will such conspiracies extend? How many Hasnats will you kill? Do you not remember those days of the uprising? Whenever your bullets killed one person, another took their place! They did not run away.”
“In the same way, if Hasnat is killed, a thousand Hasnats are ready to take their place. Do not dare to block the path of this new Bangladesh. This young generation is not one to bow their heads.”
“We have learned how to die.”
Convenor Nusrat Tabassum wrote: “Hasnat’s vehicle was rammed from behind again in Jatrabari. The situation is becoming serious. We want protection from the government.”
On Wednesday, a truck hit a vehicle in a convoy that was carrying Hasnat and Sarjis on their way back to Dhaka from the funeral of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram.
