Caretaker or interim govt system must be included in constitution: Speakers

Election experts have said that a new opportunity has emerged to establish democracy in Bangladesh following the end of authoritarian rule through the student-public movement.

To ensure a fair election process and establish democracy, the inclusion of a caretaker or interim government system in the constitution is necessary, they told a roundtable discussion organised by Sushashoner Jonney Nagorik at the Azizur Rahman Conference Hell in the Daily Star Building in Dhaka city on Thursday.

At the beginning of the discussion, tributes were paid to all martyrs of the anti-discrimination student movement, and prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of the injured.
