Cautionary signal No. 3 issued for ports

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox'sbazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal No. One (R) One as deep Depression persists over East central Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay.

The depression over the East-central bay and adjoining north-east bay moved slightly westwards intensified into a deep depression over the same area and was centred at 9:00am on Saturday about 480 kms south-southwest of Chattogram port, 415 kms south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 450 kms south of Mongla port and 405 kms south of Paym port, a special met office bulletin issued on Saturday said.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a west/northwesterly direction, it said.

Maximum sustained wind speed 48 kms of the deep depression centre is about 50 KPH rising to 60 KPH in gusts/ squalls, as per the bulletin.

All fishing boats and trawlers have been advised to come closer to the coast and proceed with caution. They are advised not to venture into the deep sea.
