Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has read out the July Declaration, marking the first anniversary of the July Uprising.
He delivered the declaration at an uprising anniversary event on Dhaka's Manik Mia Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam, Salahuddin Ahmed, Jamaat-e-Islami’s deputy chief Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, and Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan joined Yunus on stage.
The ceremony began at 5pm with the national anthem, followed by a minute’s silence in honour of those killed during the uprising.
