The foreign ministry on Tuesday described the recent visit of Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus to the United Kingdom (UK) as ‘very successful’, highlighting his audience with British King Charles III and tangible progress in recovering stolen assets.
“In our consideration, the visit was very successful,” Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique told reporters at a media briefing held at the ministry.
He noted that the Chief Adviser had more engagements than initially scheduled and was accorded full protocol during the official visit.
Siddique outlined key achievements of the visit, including a significant step forward in the recovery of stolen assets, a one-on-one audience with King Charles III, and Prof Yunus being conferred the prestigious King Charles III Harmony Award.
On Thursday, Prof Yunus received the King Charles III Harmony Award at a formal ceremony held at St James's Palace in London.
Ahead of the award ceremony, King Charles III hosted Prof Yunus for a private audience at Buckingham Palace.
The two leaders held a half-hour-long one-on-one meeting, where they discussed issues of mutual interest, according to the foreign ministry.
