Detective Branch arrests Child and Old Age Care chairman Milton Samaddar

The Detective Branch of police has arrested Milton Samaddar, Chairman of Child and Old Age Care, for his suspected involvement in fraud and cheating.

A team of DB police picked him up from Mirpur in the capital on Wednesday around 7:30 pm.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DB’s Mirpur zone Shah Alam told the media that the arrest came after several media outlets published reports on Milton’s suspected link to fraud and cheating.

Milton has been a social media celebrity by sheltering helpless people in his Child and Old Age Care. Media reports, however, suggest that he embezzled a huge amount of money collected for the care home and that he stole the organs of many people taking refuge there, under the cover of his charitable activities.

Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner of DB Harun-Or-Rashid told reporters in a briefing on Wednesday night that they would seek remand for Milton Samaddar from the court for interrogation.
