Circumstances don't allow reopening educational institutions now: Education minister

Present conditions do not permit the reopening of educational institutions at this moment, said Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel on Monday.

Besides, it needs to be discussed with relevant stakeholders about this, he added when responding to a reporter’s query during a meeting with university teachers in the ministerial conference room.

Asked whether any discussion took place about reopening primary schools at the cabinet meeting, he said, “I won’t comment on it now. What has been discussed at the cabinet cannot be discussed outside.”

At the meeting with university teachers, Education and Cultural Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Education Nurul Islam Nahid, also a former education minister, among others, were present.
