A Dhaka Court has granted permanent bail to City Bank Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser in three fraud cases filed by his wife Tabassum Kaiser in December last year.
Judge of the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka, Mohammad Jasim, passed the order on Tuesday after hearing three separate bail petitions filed by City Bank’s chairman lawyers in the cases.
The prosecution, however, opposed the petitions saying that if the accused gets bail he will tamper with investigation and flee from the country.
Lawyers Saidur Rahman Manik and Aminul Ahsan Masum appeared in the court hearing on behalf of Aziz Al Kaiser.
Meanwhile, Aziz Al Kaiser has already been released from Keraniganj Central Jail after the bail order, said lawyer Aminul Ahsan Masum.
On March 16, the same court sent Aziz to jail after rejecting his bail petitions in the cases filed with Tejgaon Industrial Police Station.
Tabassum Kaiser, also one of Directors of Partex Star Particles Mills Ltd, filed the three separate fraud cases on December 28 last year.
According to the case statements, it was alleged that Aziz and board of directors held a board meeting without the presence of Tabassum Kaiser. The accused forged her signature and transferred all her shares of Partex Group in his name.
