Commerce secretary sees no reason for US to impose trade restrictions on Bangladesh

Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh on Monday said Bangladesh has made significant improvements on labour rights issues.

After a meeting on a review of the latest progress in executing the National Action Plan (NAP) on labour rights, the top government official ruled out scopes of US trade restrictions on Bangladesh, considering the current situation on the issue.

He said they would inform the government of the United States about the improvement of working conditions and steps taken on labour rights issues.
