Two people, including an assistant sub-inspector of police, were killed after a Dhaka-bound private car fell into a pond in Chelerghat area of Trishal upazila under Mymensingh district early on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as ASI Aminul Islam, 32 and his brother-in-law Jahidul Islam, 27, reports a news agency.
Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound private car from Mymensingh overturned and fell into the pond at around 3:00am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
On information, Trishal Fire Brigade members recovered the bodies, the OC added.
The bodies were kept at Trishal Police Station.
