The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have recovered 100,000 yaba tablets during a raid on a house in Chattogram’s Anwara Upazila.

A housewife was also arrested during the operation on Thursday night in Raipur Union’s South Parua Para.

The arrestee is 43-year-old Monowara Begum, the wife of local resident Anowar Majhi, according to a bdnews24.com report.

The RAB says Monowara and her family are involved in the drug trade. They collect yaba from Cox’s Bazar and then distribute the banned substance at wholesale and retail in different locations in Chattogram.

RAB-7 said in a statement that a RAB team conducted a raid on Anwar’s home based on a tip-off that it was used to stash yaba.

Several people fled from the house during the raid, but RAB personnel managed to catch Monowara.

Monowara then pointed law enforcers to a polythene bag underneath the bed that carried 100,000 yaba tablets, the RAB said.
