Three people were injured in separate landmine explosions near the border at Naikhyangchhari upazila under Bandarban on Friday, police said.
Ali Hossain, 30, had his left leg severed and his right leg burned in the first explosion around 6:30 am in the Ashartali border area, several hundred yards inside Myanmar from the zero line. Mohammad Russel, 25, was injured in a second explosion near border pillar no 49 around 10:30 am, while Arif Ullah, 30, was hurt in a third blast in the Jamgochhari area.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Bangladesh.
Naikhyangchhari Officer-in-Charge Masrul Haq said the landmines might have been planted by the Myanmar-based armed group Arakan Army.
