Police have recovered the body of an autorickshaw driver from the Aqua Bypass area of Mymensingh city.
The body was recovered from the roadside near the north gate of Aqua Markaz Mosque in the suburb on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rahat (20), son of late Humayun Kabir of the Aqua New Bus Stand area, reports bdnews24.com.
Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter.
Police and locals said that on Saturday morning around 10:00 am, locals informed the police after seeing a body lying on the north side of the road near the gate of Aqua Markaz Mosque.
Later, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Locals say that the deceased Rahat was a battery-powered autorickshaw driver and a drug addict. On Saturday, he left home with Tk 100 from his mother.
It is believed that Rahat may have died due to a drug overdose. The body has been sent to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the OC.
