A good number of growers under the region said they have been cultivating the fruit in their homestead as well as other lands for many years and selling those at a good price.

Horticulturist Mezbahul Islam of the DAE said they have advised the farmers to cultivate Baukul as the cultivation of the fruit is profitable and its production cost is less than that of many other crops or fruits.

They provided the farmers with quality saplings and latest technology in order to boost yield of the fruit, he further said.

High land is better than low land for Baukul cultivation. So its farming is gaining popularity in the high land areas of the region, he added.
