Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) expelled two of its central leaders and suspended 10 leaders and activists of its Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) unit over Tuesday's clash between its two factions that left a student bullet-injured.
The expelled BCL men are- Abu Sayeed Akondo and Sajedul Islam, members of its central unit, while the suspended leaders are Syed Joim, vice-president of BCL Sust unit, Ashraful Alam Antu, joint general secretary, Dolon Ahmed ,organising secretary, Lakkhan Chandra ,liberation war affair secretary of and members- Monkar Kazi, Towfikur Rahman, Basir Mia, Meher Uddin Himel, Raihan Ahmed and Shariful Islam Sharif.
The BCL central executive committee took the action on Wednesday for violating party's discipline, said a press release signed by Saifur Rahman Shohag, President of BCL central unit and SM Zakir Hossain, its secretary.
The decision came after SM Abdullah Al Rony, a student of food engineering and tea technology department, suffered bullet wound during a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
