At least 50 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a market of Bhola district town early Saturday.

The fire broke out from a shop in Monohari Potti around 12:45am and engulfed the adjoining stationary and grocery shops quickly, said Md Moktar Hossain, Superintendent of Police.

On information, five firefighting units rushed in and doused the fire around 4:30am after four hours of frantic efforts with the help of locals, police, and the shop owners, according to a news agency report.

It is not clear yet what caused the fire, the policeman said. No casualty was reported in this incident.
