Police recovered the body of a 19-year-old girl from a pond near her house one day after she went missing in Panchagarh’s Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased, Shahida Begum was an HSC candidate and resident of Bamanpara village, as per UNB reports.
Shahida went outside on Friday around 9 am. Her father, Harun, filed a missing diary in the evening, as they could not locate her after searching for a while.
Locals spotted a dead body in the pond on Saturday morning and informed the police.
Panchagarh Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Pradeep Kumar Roy, said legal action will be taken based on the family's complaint after the autopsy.
