There is no legal bar to the release of Golam Kibria from jail following the apex court order, said his lawyer Mohammad Sayed Ahmed Raza.
The High Court on July 11 granted ad-interim bail for six months to Golam Kibria in the case. Later the state filed appeal petition against the High Court bail order.
The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division on July 12 stayed the High Court order and asked the authorities for holding a DNA test of the of child of the rape victim. The Chamber Judge also fixed August 21 for hearing on the matter.
The Appellate Division on August 21 asked the authorities concerned to hold the DNA test and submit its report on October 9 before it.

Golam's wife Nigar Aftab was also made accused of torturing the girl in the case filed with Tangail Sadar Police Station on April 6.
