Chintar Chash launches research programme in Rajshahi City
Special session on Method Development held in Saidpur, Nilphamari

A workshop on "Gobeshonay Harekhori" (beginning in research) was held at Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Lines School and College in Rajshahi on Saturday.
Organised by "Chintar Chash", the workshop was attended by students of grades 7 to 10 from various schools in the city and commenced at 2 PM as the initiation of school research activities in the Rajshahi region.
The chief guest at the inaugural session was Mohammad Shahjahan, PPM, PhD, the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rajshahi Range. The acting principal of the institution, Md. Shafiqul Islam, presided over the event.
Special speech was given by Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, Chairman of Chintar Chash, with Mohammad Khorshed Alam (DC, CTSB, RMP) present as a special guest. The resource persons for the workshop included the organisation's Research Director Mohammad Zahir Uddin and Director Jahidul Islam. Overall management was handled by district coordinators Samina Siddiqui, Kabya Roy, Amitabh Chakraborty, Tahmid Ahmed, and Tahmidul Islam.
The workshop covered various topics, including the definition of research, its importance, the philosophy of science, and ethics-based research for human welfare. Students submitted their research proposals in groups, based on which research methodologies will be determined in the next session.
On the same day, a special session on research methodologies took place at the International School in Syedpur at 10 AM, involving students from 7th to 10th grades of different schools in the city. Only those students who had previously participated in the Gobeshonay Harekhori workshop on February 15, 2025, participated in this session. They organised themselves into groups to determine how to implement their proposals.
At 3 PM on the same day, a similar session was held at Chhamir Uddin School and College for students from various schools in Nilphamari who had participated in the introductory workshop on February 16.
The sessions were supervised by SM Mesbah Ar Rahman, Executive Director of Chintar Chash, Fowzia Yasmin Joli, President of the Nilphamari district committee, and joint general secretary Ahsan Habib Himel.
Overall management was handled by the district committee's general secretary Chowdhury Nitol Al Wares, organising secretary Morsalin Islam, assistant research secretary Farzana Faiza Momo, and office secretary Abdullah Al Safi.
Supervisory assistance was provided by teachers from the Tulshirram Government Girls' High School Md Moshiur Rahman, International School and College Asadul Haq, Syedpur Cantonment Board High School Md. Ibrahim Khalil and Md. Ataur Rahman, and Chamir Uddin School and College Md. Sohel Islam.
The students are working on various topics, including public health in Bangladesh, creating bioplastics from banana peels, capital-centric societal structures, quality verification of market products, industrial pollution, challenges in reviving muslin fabric, the impact of smartphone usage, the influence of medicinal plants on bacterial growth, educational deficiencies in schools, the influence of AI, and methods for rainwater reserving during the monsoon for summer use.
After completing their research, students who pass the preliminary selection will have the opportunity to participate in the 10th Chintar Chash Young Researchers Conference on October 11, 2025, at the Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of Dhaka University.
