Members of Coast Guard Bangladesh in a drive seized 70 kilograms of jatka (hilsa fry less than 9 inches in length) from a launch in Meghna river in Chandpur on Monday.
Lt Sinchon Ahmed, commander of Coast Guard Chandpur station, said that a team of coast guard raided the Dhaka-bound launch 'MV Jahid-4' in the river on secret information and seized the jatka.
Later, the seized jatka were distributed to local madrasa and orphanages.
