Residents of Chuadanga experienced a noticeable chill from early Tuesday as the mild cold intensified across the district.
According to the local weather office, the temperature dropped from 15.9 degrees Celsius at 6:00 am to 15.8 degrees Celsius by 9:00 am.
People, especially daily wage earners, suffered due to the biting cold, while many were seen heading to work in warm clothing from the early hours.
A chilly breeze coupled with the mild cold has heightened the impact across both urban and rural areas of the district.
The meteorological office said temperatures may rise slightly during the day, but the cold is expected to become more severe at night and in the early morning.
Tahmina Nasrin, an observer at the Chuadanga Weather Station, said, “At 9:00 am on Tuesday, Chuadanga recorded the lowest temperature at 15.8 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 83 per cent.”
She added that night and early morning temperatures could drop further in the coming days.
