Customs officials detained a man along with 13 gold bars at Darshana check-post in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Delwar Hossain, 50, son of late Umed Sheikh, hailing from Charbarni village in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district, reports UNB.
On information, a team of Customs Intelligence from Benapole Check-post arrested Delwar around 2:30pm while he was going to India with the gold, said customs official Chhobi Rani Dutta.
Later, the gold bars were found hidden inside his briefcase.
The detainee was handed over to Damurhuda Police Station, the customs official said.
A case was also filed in this regard.
