Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested the prime accused in a case filed over dismembering the body of a woman from Roufabad in Chattogram city on Friday.
The arrestee was Fatema Akther’s husband, Md Sumon, according to a UNB report.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-7 conducted a drive in Chattogram and arrested Sumon, said MRM Mozaffar Hossain, assistant director (public relations) of Rab-7 on Friday night.
Earlier on Thursday, police recovered the body of a 20-year-old, Fatema, severed into eleven pieces, from a flat in Roufabad in Chattogram city.
Getting a bad odour from the 9th floor flat of Paharika Housing, local people informed the matter to police, who recovered the body pieces from the house.
