Doctor kicks patient's kin at Osmani Hospital, probe committee formed

A video of a doctor kicking a relative of a patient at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital has gone viral on social media. The video has been circulating through various media since Monday (April 28) morning. The incident took place at Ward No. 31 on the ground floor of the hospital on Sunday noon.
The hospital authorities have formed a five-member committee to investigate the incident. Deputy Director of the hospital, Soumitra Chakraborty confirmed the information, according to local media.
The accused doctor has been identified as Tanmoy Debnath. He works in the surgery department of the hospital.
In a video circulating on social media, a patient's relative is seen saying something to the doctor on duty. At this time, the doctor arrived. At one point, the doctor was also seen kicking the young man.
It is learned that a man named Zubair Ahmed came to the surgery ward of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment. The patient was experiencing appendix pain at the time of the incident. The victim is a friend of the patient.
According to the hospital authorities, Tanmoy Debnath is a postgraduate residential student of 'Phase-B'.
In this regard, the deputy director of the hospital. Soumitra Chakraborty said, "The incident is very sad. We will look into the whole matter through investigation. A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident and it has been asked to submit the report within seven working days.
