A farmer was killed as a sand-laden truck hit his bicycle on Panchbibi-Koya road in Somsabad area in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam, 51, of the area, UNB reported.
A sand-laden truck from Kotwalibag area hit the bicycle of Rabiul at around 7am leaving him severely injured, said Md Munsur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station.
Later, he was taken to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC added.
