A female college student was killed in a boiler blast incident at Paschimpara in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sharmin Akhter, according to a news agency report.
Borhan Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station, said the boiler of a rice mill owned by one Reza Mia went off with a big bang in the morning, injuring Sharmin while she was crossing a road adjacent to the mill.
Later, she died on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, he added.
