Killing of four UPDF activists: Daylong strike-blockade underway in Khagrachhari’s Panchhari
A daylong strike and blockade called by the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF-Prasit Group), protesting the killing of four members in an attack by miscreants last Monday, has been underway since Sunday morning in Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari.
Movement of intra-district transports on all routes of the upazila and business establishments remain closed due to the blockade being enforced by UPDF. No unexpected incident has so far been reported.
Panchhari police station’s officer-in-charge, Md Shafiul Azam, said law enforcers are vigilant so that no untoward incident can happen during the blockade, as per UNB reports.
UPDF has also called for a daylong blockade in the entire district on Monday.
Four activists of UPDF were shot dead by miscreants in ward 9 of Panchhari Upazila last Monday. The attackers also abducted two UPDF activists at the time, who were later rescued.
