A man was killed and five others injured in a clash between two groups over possession of a piece of land at Bashbaria village under Singra Upazila in Natore on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir of Bashbaria village.
Singra Police Station in-charge Niamul Alam said two groups, led by Kamal Member and Bhulu, had been at loggerheads over the land.
"The groups locked horns as Bhulu's men were irrigating land in the afternoon. Clashes erupted when Kamal's group intervened," he said, reports UNB.
Six people were injured. They were taken to the Sadar Hospital, but the on-duty doctors pronounced Alamgir dead. The others were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
