Light to moderate rain likely in 24hrs

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over the country in 24 hours as of 9 am Friday.

It may occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions, at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi division with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country during the period, said a met office press release in Dhaka on Thursday.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country during the period, the release added.

The maximum temperature was recorded 32.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday at Bogura and Thursday’s minimum temperature was 24.3 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am Thursday was recorded 200mm at Tetulia in Rangpur division, said a BSS report.

The sun sets at 6:50 pm Thursday and rises at 5:16 am on Friday in the capital.
