A schoolboy and a woman were killed in a lighting strike at Bothor village in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Shanto, 12, son of Zakir Hossain of the village and Rina Khatun, 28, daughter of Yakub Ali of Dodaria village in the upazila, reports UNB.
The thunderbolt hit them around 3:30pm while they were working at a beel (water body) in the village, leaving them severely injured, locals said.
The injured were rushed to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared them dead.
