Malaysian sailor found dead near Chattogram port’s outer anchorage

The body of a Malaysian citizen, who went missing after falling from a foreign-flagged ship, was recovered from Chittagong Port on Friday.

The deceased, Muhammad Isa bin Muhammad Birmohan, 31, was working as a sailor on the MTT Sapangar ship, according to UNB.

Birmohan fell into the sea while working on the deck of ship at the outer anchorage of port on May 8.

During a rescue operation, Coast Guard (East Zone) Media Officer Lt Commander (BN) Md Suaib Bikas said, the floating body was found at some distance from the outer anchorage around 4:00 pm on Friday.

Later, the body was recovered and handed over to the local police, added the officer.
