A schoolgirl was killed after reportedly being raped in Baroipara area of Poba upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Hasina Khatun, 11, daughter of Hossain Ali of Baipur village in Godagari upazila, and a candidate of this year's Primary Education Completion (PEC).
After completing the exams, Hasina came to visit her grandfather's (maternal) house, said Selim Badsha, officer-in-charge of Kornahar Police Station of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
Miscreants entered the house and violated her when the victim was alone there as her grandparent went to a neighbour's house on Saturday night, said the OC quoting locals.
Upon returning, Hasina's grandparent spotted the throat-shit body of the child and informed police, reports UNB.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
