One dies while saving street hawker in Benapole

A man was killed trying to save a street hawker who was being beaten by some miscreants at Sadipur intersection in Benapole on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Hasanuzzaman, 50, member of BNP Benapole Municipality unit.

Hasanuzzaman's son said his father tried to save the hawker from a gang of drug addicts who were beating him at Sadipur intersection around 11:00pm, reports UNB.

At one stage, the miscreants kicked his father on his chest.

After returning back home Hasanuzzaman fell sick while the family members rushed him to a local clinic.

Doctor of the clinic referred Hasanuzzaman to Jashore General Hospital as his condition was deteriorating.

Later on the way to the hospital the victim died.

Sub-inspector of Benapole Port Police Station Monir Hossain said the body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
