Pick-up van rams truck, kills trader in Gazipur

A vegetable vendor was killed as a pick-up van carrying him rammed into a parked truck in Salna area of Gazipur city early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Fazlur Rahman Badal, 28, hailing from Naogaon district.

The accident took place when the driver of the pick-up van lost his control over the steering and smashed into the parked truck, leaving Badal dead on the spot, said Md Ohiduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Naojor Highway Police Station, UNB reported.

However, the van driver managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident, he added.
