Police recovers female physician’s hanging body in Sylhet

A female physician was found hanging at her residence in Sylhet's Pathantula area on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Dr Priyanka Talukdar Shanta, 29, a lecturer at Parkview Medical College's physiology department and mother of a three-year-old girl, according to UNB.

Shah Md Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station, said they recovered the hanging body from the house at Pallabi around 9:30am and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Police also detained Shanta's husband Dibakar Chandra Deb Kallol, who is an architect in profession, and his father and mother over the incident, he said.

Meanwhile, victim's father filed a murder case against the detainees, the OC said, adding that the reason behind the death could be known after autopsy.
