A poultry farm with 1,200 chickens had been gutted in a fire on Friday morning at the Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram.
The fire broke out at Kamal Hossain's poultry farm in Ward-2 of East Kalurghat area of the upazila, as per UNB reports.
On information, members of the Boalkhali Fire Service rushed to the spot. But before they could reach it, the entire farm was burnt to ashes.
“My poultry farm was gutted in a fire around 4:00 a.m. There were 1,200 chickens on this farm. Everything was burnt to ashes. I have suffered a loss of about Tk 100 thousand,” said Kamal.
Md Saidur Rahman, acting station in-charge of Boalkhali Fire Service, said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit.
