A schoolboy was killed in a mudslide while working in a brick kiln in Akkelpur municipality area under Joypurhut district on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Jany Mandol, 13, only son of Chayer Uddin, a resident of Abadpur village in the upazila, reports a news agency.
Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex sources said a chunk of mud collapsed on Jany, a class-VIII student of Bhanukanda High School, at a brick kiln named S A T in the Kanthal Bari area around 5.30pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was rushed to the upazila health complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
On information, police visited the spot and hospital.
