Four young men died in a road crash at Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj on Friday evening.
Sources said a private car carrying the four was heading to Sylhet from Chhatak skidded off the road and fell into a ditch at Sontoshpur area of Kalaruka union of the upazila around 5.30pm.
Officer-in-charge of Chhatok Police Station Atikur Rahman said the four passengers have died on the spot. The car driver was critically injured.
The deceased were identified as Tofail Ahmed, 27, son of Gias Uddin, a resident of Mahtabpur under Bishwanath upazila and Raju Ahmed, 35, son of Sohrab Ali, Sayef, 27, son of Fazlul Haque, residents of Tukerbazar under Jalalabad Police Station and Shahjahan, 32, a resident of Goalabazar under Osmaninagar Police Station in Sylhet district.
According to UNB, the injured driver was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
