Sylhet mudslide death toll rises to five

Another worker has died from critical injuries sustained on Tuesday in a mudslide while extracting stones from a quarry in Sylhet, taking the death toll to five.

Sadek Miah, 40, son of Taj Ullah, a resident of Baniachang upazila of Habiganj, died on the way back home at night, reports UNB.

Sylhet’s Additional Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam Sarkar said the mudslide took place at Mondirer Jum of Jaflong in Goainghat upazila around 4:30pm.

Four quarry workers died on the spot while three others, including Sadek, were critically injured, he said.
