The truck driver Hossain was a resident of Jhenaidah's Kaliganj upazila.

Md Safiur Islam, deputy director at Munshiganj Fire Station, said a speeding private car rammed into a covered van from behind after losing control on Dhaka-bound lane on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Kuchiamor area of Sirajdikhan upazila of the district early in the morning, as per a UNB report.

The accident left an unidentified woman in the car killed and five others injured, he said.

The vehicular movement resumed after both the vehicles were removed from the expressway, the fire service official said, suspecting that dense fog caused the accident.

On the other hand, the unidentified woman was killed when a speeding truck ran over her in Chandpur area of the Sadar upazila, he added.
