Three people have been killed in a road accident when a truck rammed an autorickshaw in Dhaka’s South Keraniganj Upazila.
The incident occurred around midnight on Friday in the Ikuria Bazar area, said South Keraniganj Police Station SI Md Abul Kawser.
A CNG autorikshaw carrying two passengers from Postogola collided with a speeding truck from the opposite direction in Ikuria Bazar. Two of the victims were killed on spot while another got critically injured, SI Kawser told bdnews24 news agency.
Police have yet to identify the victims.
“Locals rescued the wounded victim and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctors on duty declared them dead.”
The truck has been impounded, but the driver and their assistant have fled. A case is being prepared at the police station, said SI Kawser.
According to reports a total of 19 people were killed across the country in road accidents on Friday.
