Three people, including two motorcyclists and a pedestrian, were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram on Wednesday night.

Police said the accidents occurred in the Halishahar area of the Faujdarhat–Port Link Road and near Akmal Ali Point in the city’s port area.

The deceased were identified as motorcyclists Shahriar Aziz Anik (26) and Md Sohan (25), and pedestrian Shahjahan (48), UNB reports.

According to Mohammad Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Halishahar Police Station, the first accident took place around 11:30pm on the rain-slicked Faujdarhat Toll Road near Chittagong Filling Station, when a motorcycle lost control and rammed into another vehicle from behind.

Both Shahriar and Sohan died on the spot, and their bodies were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue, the OC said.

In a separate incident, Shahjahan was fatally hit by a speeding motorcycle while walking along Ring Road near Akmal Ali Link Road under EPZ Police Station.

He sustained severe injuries and died on the way to hospital, police said.

The motorcyclist fled the scene, abandoning the motorcycle, which was later seized by police.
